About the Role
Kingston Biotechnology Research is seeking a Senior Research Scientist to lead our genomics research initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to direct cutting-edge genomic projects, shape research strategy, and mentor a team of talented scientists in a world-class facility.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage genomic research projects from conception through publication
- Design and execute complex experiments utilizing next-generation sequencing (NGS) and CRISPR technologies
- Mentor and develop junior scientists, fostering a culture of scientific excellence
- Publish research findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals
- Collaborate cross-functionally with proteomics, computational biology, and drug discovery teams
- Present research at national and international scientific conferences
- Contribute to grant proposals and secure external research funding
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Genomics, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a closely related field
- 5+ years of post-doctoral research experience
- Expertise in next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies and workflows
- Demonstrated proficiency with CRISPR-based genome editing techniques
- Strong background in bioinformatics and computational genomics
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications in genomics
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience leading a research team or lab
- Experience with single-cell sequencing and spatial transcriptomics
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP) for genomic data analysis
