About the Role

Kingston Biotechnology Research is seeking a Proteomics Research Associate to join our proteomics research team. In this role, you will contribute to groundbreaking protein characterization studies using state-of-the-art mass spectrometry and structural biology techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Perform protein characterization and identification using advanced mass spectrometry workflows
  • Operate and maintain LC-MS/MS instrumentation for quantitative and qualitative proteomics
  • Conduct protein purification and sample preparation using chromatographic and electrophoretic techniques
  • Apply structural biology methods including X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM sample preparation
  • Analyze and interpret proteomics data using bioinformatics tools and statistical methods
  • Maintain detailed experimental records and contribute to research publications
  • Collaborate with genomics and computational biology teams on multi-omics projects

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in Biochemistry, Proteomics, Molecular Biology, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS instrumentation and proteomics workflows
  • Proficiency in protein purification techniques (affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion chromatography)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to experimental detail
  • Experience with data analysis software (MaxQuant, Proteome Discoverer, or similar)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with structural biology techniques (X-ray crystallography, cryo-EM)
  • Background in post-translational modification analysis
  • Familiarity with R or Python for proteomics data analysis
